I'd say it is not fuel prices or the mortgage issue. If it was the mortgage issue, people would still be shopping, but not buying. From what I've seen, no one is shopping either. The biggest market for RVs is retries, which often don't need financing or have long term well established credit and significant equity.
It is purely consumer confidence. If one is confident that the economy is going to stay stable, people will make large purchases for non-nonessential toys regardless of the fuel price or difficulty in getting financing. Those who have coaches are still camping, but people are afraid to commit to a long term expense when they don't trust the economy. Gas prices have effected consumer confidence, but the price alone is not the issue.

I am getting excited about this Gathering. As I said, it's among our, if not our favorite Gathering due to the time of year, location, and of course, the friends. :b
Not bringing our Jeep. Just the bikes. Was reviewing our menu last night. After discussion with Sully, SPAM kabobs will be our choice of fare one day for lunch. :w
Sully was brushing up on his fireside stories. Will be a fun weekend.

It's official! Christian Ponder will get the nod at QB this Saturday for the Noles. Larry and I got to see him in person last November down in Blacksburg when Drew Weatherford got knocked out of the game. Had two TD's before succombing to Freshman mistakes.

Joy...I've eaten breakfast at that Flying J with Larry and Linda. Slept there with Larry, Linda, Linda's sister, Roger, Cindy, Munch and Squirt. Was a little crowded. :b

Gas is $3.65 - $3.75 here. Cheapest diesel I've seen is $4.69.
